§ The Holy Spirit and Cosmology
I. GODHEAD IN CREATION.
1. God originated, provided, and rules,
2. The "Word" the agent in all creation. (John 1: 1-3, 10; 1 Cor. 8: 6; Col. 1: 16; Heb. 1: 2.)
3. Holy Spirit organized, gave laws, and guides.
II. HOLY SPIRIT ORGANIZED MATERIAL UNIVERSE.
1. Three Hebrew words:
a. "Bara," "created." (Gen. 1: 1, 27.)
b. "Asah," "to make." (Gen. 1: 26.)
c. "Yarsar," "to form." (Gen. 2:7.)
2. At first material chaotic mass ("earth was waste and void") (Gen. 1: 2.)
3. Six days' work of creation, days of organization.
4. God worked through Holy Spirit.
5. Holy Spirit organized matter, gave form to it, vital force, and pro-creative power.
6. Holy Spirit launched creation upon its mission in the universe.
III. HOLY SPIRIT GAVE LAWS TO PERPETUATE.
1. All things began by miracle, continued by law.
2. Vegetable and animal life began by miracle.
3. Man began by miracle.
4. Holy Spirit garnished the heavens. (Job 26: 13.)
5. Holy Spirit renews vegetable kingdom. (Psalm 104 : 30.)
6. Holy Spirit everywhere. (Psalm 139: 7-10.)
7. Holy Spirit present wherever laws of universe are.
8. Formative acts of God continue through Holy Spirit.
9. Holy Spirit now makes man. (Job 23: 4.)
