§ Fellowship with God
The Holy Spirit as a member of the Godhead is associated in all divine acts with God and the Word. Such association and relationship necessarily imply a likeness in nature and a similarity in attributes. The Holy Spirit associates with God and Christ as a divine being. We cannot think of a mere force or inanimate thing as being companionable with God. Man had sweet communion and fellowship with God before he sinned. (Gen. 3: 8.)
Man then was a suitable companion of God, but he needs to learn right articulation and le mot juste to speak to God. The Holy Spirit has always been in fellowship with God; he has cooperated with God in the Creation of the material world and in the creation of the spiritual realm. God has revealed himself in nature and in revelation; the revelation of God through Christ is the fullest revelation that we have of God. This revelation was nude through Christ by the Holy Spirit.
